The 20th century yielded many amazing women who contributed greatly to the social structure of our community.  The challenges these women faced, (cultural, racial and gender related), were the same as other women met. Yet, these ladies, Esther Bennett, (1923-1993), Florence Drake (1879-1971), and Alice Smith (1902-1990), made substantial contributions above the norm. Each was honored with a local school named after her.
